Theakston to play role in Linda Green

Jamie Theakston has reportedly landed a role in the BBC drama Linda Green, alongside Liza Tarbuck.

The Top Of The Pops presenter will play the object of Linda's affections, in a one-off scene to be filmed next week.

It is Theakston's first TV role, following his recent success in the West End show Art at London's Whitehall Theatre.

He has been friends with Liza since they met as teenagers at the National Youth Theatre, reports the Daily Mirror.
