BBC seeks budding writers for new internet sitcom
The BBC is seeking budding writers to help create a new sitcom on the internet.
Cleaners has been developed by the BBC's television comedy development unit and is based around a group of late-night office cleaners.
The six writers selected will work at a 'virtual writers table', viewable by everyone but accessible only to the writers.
The whole process from initial plot outline to final draft will be available for the public to view.
BBC Comedy Development Editor Michael Jacob said: "This is a real adventure. We hope the result will be good for the writers taking part and entertaining for the people watching the script develop.
"It is a step into unknown territory, and I am excited about working with the team to produce a script we will all be proud of."
The writers will produce an episode of Cleaners which will be read out and streamed via BBCi by actors.
The successful writers will be announced on August 2 and the scheme is due to end in mid-November, reports Waveguide.
