Mel B to duet with Prince

Mel B is planning to relaunch her solo career with the help of Prince. She is also planning to work with Ja Rule and Jay-Z later this year.

The former Spice Girl is aiming to break the US market with her high-profile collaborations.

Speaking to newspaper New Nation's entertainment section, The Pulse, Mel said: "My music aim is to go to America.

"I'm gonna start it off in America because I've had lots of offers and proposals from people who wanna work me with me out there. One of the people I can confirm I will be working with, which I am really excited about, is Prince."

Mel says it was her decision to split from her record company Virgin, but she says her lack of success as a solo artist in the UK was down to her own lack of focus.

"I don't think I had the right frame of mind and focus for my direction," she said.
