Rumours abound Buffy star has married

Speculation is mounting on whether Buffy star Sarah Michelle Gellar has married fiance Freddie Prinze Jnr in a secret ceremony.

According to a US gossip columnist they married in Las Vegas three weeks ago in front of families and friends.

A publicist for the couple is refusing to confirm or deny the stories.

Scooby Doo co-star Matthew Lillard, who plays Shaggy, adds that the couple are being referred to around town as "newly-weds", reports the Daily Express.

Gellar plays Daphne in the movie, alongside Prinze as clean-cut Fred.

It opens in the UK on July 12.
