Spencer gets Big Brother boot

Big Brother’s laidback love interest Spencer Smith tonight became the fourth housemate to be voted out of the reality game show.

Bookmakers suspended all bets on the 22-year-old from Cambridge earlier after a flurry of bets favouring the ski shop assistant and part-time punt operator to be evicted.

He was up against male model Alex Sibley, 23, from Essex, in the public vote for eviction after the pair received four nominations each, and 2.25 million viewers were said to have taken part in this week’s vote.

Spencer, whose flirtation with fellow housemate Kate Lawler has gripped fans, had emerged as an early favourite to win the £70,000 (€105,000) prize but bookmakers Ladbrokes reported a steady stream of bets favouring him to be evicted since the nominations were announced on Tuesday.
