Corrie's Jack to have heart surgery

The actor who plays Jack Duckworth in Coronation Street is to undergo heart surgery next week.

Bill Tarmey has been off work for two weeks with chest problems.

Tarmey had a quadruple bypass in 1987.

A Coronation Street spokeswoman told The Sun: "Bill is having heart surgery next week.

"He has not been at work for two weeks and has been written out for a further three weeks."
