New Chumbawamba LP out in August
Chumbawamba's new album Readymades will be released on August 5.
The band describe it as a bit of a departure.
They say although it's got a deep vein of anger, it's much more plaintive than previous records.
The official Chumbawamba website says: "For once we've abandoned the shouty bit, singy bit, big chorus and here-comes-the-brass to make an album full of folk samples, melody and break beats."
It includes songs inspired by the Peasant's Revolt of 1381; the footballer Len Shackleton; the conviction of Satpal Ram and Bradford's Quebec Street Unemployed Club of the 20s and 30s.
Chumbawamba are playing a number of European Festival dates in the summer, including the Cambridge Folk Festival on August 3.
