Minnelli planning to write autobiography

Liza Minnelli is reportedly planning to write a "warts and all" autobiography.

The New York Post says the autobiography would "detail Minnelli's struggles with alcoholism and drug abuse."

The book will reportedly also cover the life and death of her mother Judy Garland, and her estrangement from half sister Lorna Luft.

Minnelli's new husband David Gest is reported to have convinced her that writing about her life will help her face the turbulent past.

Luft's candid autobiography Me And My Shadows, which described her life with Garland and Minnelli, became a best seller and was later turned into a film.
