Nicole Kidman was the star of the show scooping two awards at the MTV Movie awards at a star-studded ceremony in Los Angeles today.
Newly blonde Nicole won the coveted best female performance category for the musical Moulin Rouge.
The stunning Australian claimed she was disappointed, however, at not winning the best kiss award for her Moulin Rouge clinch with McGregor.
Orlando Bloom won MTV’s best breakthrough male award for his role as Legolas Greenleaf in the epic movie The Lord of The Rings: The Fellowship of The Ring.
The 25-year-old beat off competition from Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe, Colin Hanks, Paul Walker and DMX to take the coveted award.
The Lord of The Rings: The Fellowship of the Rings was also voted best movie beating Black Hawk Down, Legally Blonde, The Fast and the Furious and Shrek.
Ewan McGregor, and his co-star Kidman won the award for best musical sequence for their performances in Moulin Rouge.
Accepting the award Kidman, 34, joked that they should have been given the honour for best kiss.
She said: ‘‘I’m really bummed we didn’t get best kiss, we should have rehearsed more, we needed to kiss more, Ewan.’’
Kidman also triumphed in the best female performance category scooping the award for her role as courtesan Satine in Moulin Rouge.
She told the MTV audience: ‘‘You guys supported me through a really difficult time, you went and saw my films which is lovely.’’
Kidman beat Oscar winner Halle Berry, Britain’s Kate Beckinsale, Angelina Jolie and Reese Witherspoon to take the award.
Meanwhile Ozzy Osbourne’s teenage daughter Kelly made her singing debut at the show watched closely by her brother Jack who videotaped her performance from his seat in the audience.
Kelly, who has become a household name in America thanks to the success of fly-on-the-wall reality show The Osbournes, performed her first single - a cover of Madonna’s classic Papa Don’t Preach.
Backstage, she admitted to being ‘‘so nervous’’ about her debut live performance.
She said: ‘‘I had one go through with friends and family at the Viper Room and then this was the first time I have performed in front of more than 10 people.’’
Will Smith, who missed out on an Oscar earlier this year, was named best male performance for his role as Muhammad Ali in Ali and Reese Witherspoon took the award for best comedic performance for Legally Blonde.
The award for best kiss went to two male actors - Jason Biggs and Seann William Scott - for the comedy American Pie 2 while Denzel Washington was named best villain for his role as a maverick cop in thriller Training Day.
Singer Britney Spears missed out on the award for breakthrough female for her debut movie role as Lucy in Crossroads. That honour was scooped by Mandy Moore for A Walk To Remember.
Other awards included best action sequence which went to British director Ridley Scott’s movie Black Hawk Down and best fight which was won by Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan for Rush Hour 2.
The MTV Movie Awards, which are voted for by MTV viewers in the States, will be broadcast on MTV in Ireland on Saturday June 15.
