Jordan asks doctors to induce baby Harvey

Glamour model Jordan was expecting to give birth today after calling on doctors to induce her baby.

The 23-year-old, real name Katie Price, was admitted to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton after becoming ‘‘fed up with waiting’’, her spokesman said.

Her parents Amy and Paul were at her bedside but there was no sign of the baby’s father, Manchester United star Dwight Yorke.

It is understood he has been informed of the imminent birth. He had previously been coaching in Australia.

Jordan was due to give birth to a son, to be named Harvey after her grandfather, 11 days ago.

Her spokesman Dave Read said: ‘‘Basically Jordan has got fed up with waiting and because her baby is so overdue the doctors were happy to induce her.

‘‘She is doing really well but is naturally quite nervous. It will happen today. Her parents are with her.’’

The surgically enhanced model, who grew up in Brighton, elected to give birth at Brighton’s main NHS hospital as she and her mother were born there.

She was due to go into hospital tomorrow to be induced.
