Oasis and Chemicals take MTV Japan awards

The Chemical Brothers, Oasis and Backstreet Boys were among the winners at the first MTV Video Music Awards Japan.

The Chemicals took the Best Dance Act award and Backstreet Boys were named Best Group.

Oasis took the Best Live Performance award after headlining the first night of last year's Fuji Rock Festival.

They performed at the awards in Tokyo, alongside artists including Sheryl Crow, Jay-Z, Nickelback and Boyz II Men.

The three-hour event will be shown on MTV Japan on Sunday may 26 at 10pm local time.
