Model Lisa still friends with Clooney

Model Lisa Snowdon has told how she is ‘‘still good friends’’ with her ex Hollywood heartthrob George Clooney - but she does not ask him about his new girlfriends.

The 28-year-old brunette, who has just been named as the new face of Top of the Pops, was one of the most envied women in the world when Clooney pursued her after their meeting on a Martini ad shoot in Spain in November 2000.

The pair separated last year and neither have spoken about the reason behind the break-up, but insist they remain on good terms.

Speaking to the Sunday Express magazine, Lisa said: ‘‘We’re still good friends and we speak regularly, but when we do I don’t ask about his love life. That would be weird - there are certain things you don’t talk about with your ex.’’

And speaking of the couple’s year-long romance she said: ‘‘It was a good period, but quite stressful too. I didn’t realise there would be paparazzi on my doorstep every morning.’’

Discovered by a model scout when she was 19, before Clooney she was most famous for her appearance in a series of adverts for breakfast cereal, but went on to become a presenter on MTV and BBC Choice’s LA Pool Party.

And now, with a new flame and her ‘‘dream job’’ with TOTP, Lisa still feels the pull of Hollywood.

She said: ‘‘In an ideal world I’d love to have a show in LA and one in the UK so I could work six months here and six months in the sun ... or I’d love to be the new Wonder Woman.’’
