Hawke movie to be filmed over 12 years

Oscar-nominated star Ethan Hawke is to star in a movie being filmed over a 12-year period, it was reported today.

American director Richard Linklater will start shooting the film, which also stars Patricia Arquette, in his home city of Texas this summer. But he will not complete it for 12 years.

The as yet untitled film will follow a child as he grows up and physically matures, US trade newspaper Variety reports.

Hollywood actor Hawke was nominated for a best supporting actor Oscar this year for his role as a detective in thriller Training Day.

Arquette is currently starring in comedy Human Nature with British actor Rhys Ifans.
