George Lucas attends Cannes Film Festival

Star Wars director George Lucas has flown into France for a special screening of his new film.

Episode II: Attack Of The Clones was screened out of competition today at the Cannes Film Festival.

The movie opened in cinemas in the US and UK today.

It makes its public debut in French cinemas on Friday.

The film's producer Rick McCallum was also at Cannes, to talk to reporters about digital cinema and its potential.

Star Wars Episode II: Attack Of The Clones was shot on Sony digital cameras, and was shown in Cannes using digital projectors rather than the standard 35 mm format.
