Weakest Link to be shelved in US
The Weakest Link has been shelved in the United States amid rapidly falling ratings.
Anne Robinson has been told the weekly episodes are to be cut from NBC's schedule this autumn.
The quiz show host has a six-year contract with the TV network.
Although sad to see the end of the series, Robinson hopes it will give her more time to focus on new programmes.
"Not having to fly to Los Angeles every three weeks will come as something of a release," she said.
The Weakest Link achieved 17.5m viewers when it was first aired last year, making it one of the US's top 10 programmes.
But ratings fell considerably and executives decided it had no future.
