Minnelli's stepmother drops lawsuit

Liza Minnelli's stepmother has reportedly dropped her lawsuit against the entertainer.

Lee Minnelli, 94, told Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Gregory O'Brien that she could not continue with the legal action, in which she had accused her stepdaughter of selling her home, cutting off the electricity and sacking her staff.

The singer persuaded Lee to change her mind in a phone call in which she promised to take her to dinner at famed Beverly Hills restaurant Spago, the New York Post reported.

"I don't want to sue her because I love her," Lee said.

The lawsuit filed last month said that Lee was guaranteed housing in the will of her late husband, Vincente Minnelli.

It alleged that Liza Minnelli, sold the Beverly Hills home where Lee had lived for 40 years and had "instructed her representatives to remove Lee by whatever means necessary".
