Michel Houellebecq has won this year’s IMPAC Dublin Literary Award for his second novel, Atomised.

The 44-year-old Frenchman will receive his prize at a ceremony in Dublin next month.

Others on the shortlist were Margaret Atwood, Peter Carey, Michael Collins, Helen deWitt, Carlos Fuentes and Antoni Libera.
