Harry Potter fever swept across the UK today as parents and children flocked to buy copies of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone on video and DVD which were on sale for the first time.

Retailers are predicting the magical movie will notch up sales of more than one million on its first day, smashing the previous record held by Titanic.
