Star Wars producer set to 'revolutionise Hollywood'

Star Wars producer Rick McCallam says the making of Attack Of The Clones has revolutionised Hollywood.

He says digital technology has made film-making more democratic.

Attack Of The Clones is said to be the first significant film to have been shot entirely digitally.

McCallum told The Sunday Times: "You know, Orson Welles said it: cinema's one of the few art forms where the artist cannot ever get to a point where he can actually own the tools to express himself.

"Those things are changing dramatically with digital technology.

"It's going to democratise the process by breaking through the tyranny of the normal mechanical and imposed structure that a film has to go through."

Attack Of The Clones opens in Ireland on May 16.
