Lonnie Donegan - widely regarded as the ‘‘king of skiffle music’’ - was recovering in hospital today after undergoing another heart operation.

The 50s legend, who turned 71 just two days ago, underwent surgery yesterday morning at the private London Bridge Hospital, his friend and PR manager Mel Roberts said. His third wife, Sharon, was at his bedside.
