Prodigy return after four years for festivals

Dance act Prodigy make their first major UK appearance for four years this summer as they headline a batch of weekend festivals, it was announced today.

The band will be among the crowd-pullers at the sister festivals Reading, Leeds and Glasgow’s Gig On The Green, during the August Bank Holiday weekend.

Other major names to appear at the three gigs include Pulp, Slipknot and the re-formed Jane’s Addiction, while acclaimed New York act The Strokes will appear at Leeds and Reading only.

Other acts to play at just the English festivals include The Dandy Warhols, Ash and Muse, while rock icons Guns N’Roses are lined up to play at Leeds only.

The festivals run from August 23-25.

Other big festivals this summer include the two-site event V2002, which sees Travis and Stereophonics on the bill a week earlier.

Glastonbury - which takes place from June 28 to 30 - has yet to announce its line-up, even though it has sold out. Artists appearing are expected to include The Charlatans and Rod Stewart.
