Show goes on as Kylie shakes off virus
Kylie Minogue has vowed the show will go on as she recovers from a virus that threatened her sell-out tour.
Last week she flew in her voice coach from Los Angeles who used vocal exercises, Chinese herbs, homeopathic remedies and throat massage to get her voice back to form.
Kylie said: "I'm feeling so much better. I'm nearly 100% recovered and looking forward to the rest of the tour. Everyone's been really supportive and helped me through it."
Voice coach Ron Anderson, who has worked with the singer in the past, as well as other stars such as Janet Jackson, Seal and Bjork, immediately started work to make sure she could open the 25-date tour of Britain on Friday as planned.
That night 33-year-old Kylie said on stage at Cardiff Arena: "I've had trouble shaking off the bug that has affected my voice.
"Some people thought I would have to cancel the show - but the word cancel is not in my vocabulary."
Her spokesman said Kylie's voice was back to strength by Saturday night.
He said: "Reports that any dates of Kylie Minogue's current sold-out tour are in jeopardy are completely false.
"On Friday it is true that Kylie was suffering from a virus which she felt affected her voice. However, until she mentioned it from the stage most of the crowd were unaware of any vocal problem."
Anderson said: "I'm very pleased. Last night Kylie sang perfectly and I have no worries about her being able to complete the tour."
