Lily Savage leaves hospital

Paul O'Grady, better known as Lily Savage, has left hospital after treatment for a heart attack.

He was discharged from a London hospital just six days after suffering the heart attack at his home.

The 46-year-old comic had been expected to stay in for longer but impressed doctors with his speedy recovery.

"No one can believe it is only a few days since this happened but he is back at home already where he is recuperating," a spokeswoman said.

"The doctors are very pleased with his progress and although he will have to go back to hospital for a check-up, he should be fine now so long as he takes it easy."

The Blankety Blank star was taken to hospital in the early hours of Friday morning after suffering chest pains at his home near Tower Bridge, south-east London.

Doctors diagnosed a heart attack and he underwent a procedure to widen a blocked artery.
