Men sentenced over Britney holiday home burglary
Four men have escaped a jail term after breaking into a holiday home where Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake were staying.
One of them said they wanted to steal a souvenir of Britney from the house in Destin, Florida.
All four pleaded no contest to charges of burglary and grand theft.
They have been sentenced to 18 months of community control and two years' probation.
Salvador Martinez, 19, Richard Olivarez, 20, Marcus Cook, 19, and Matthew Daily, 18, also had to sign a "nondisclosure agreement" which means they can't talk about the burglary or what was taken.
The Northwest Florida Daily News reports more than $5,000 (£3,476) worth of property was stolen from the house. Items included videotapes with "personal footage" and "several clothing items belonging to the celebrities", a report on the incident said.
Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office spokesman Rick Hord said the deputies who arrested the four reported none of the items belonged to the stars, and the tapes were pretty bland.
A Sheriff's Office report reveals items such as a "Gilligan-style" blue-and-white hat, a scarf, a cell phone, nail polish and a $30 (£20) pair of shoes were among those taken.
