Halle Berry injures eye in Bond stunt

Halle Berry has been injured performing a stunt for the new Bond movie Die Another Day in Spain.

She reportedly had to have a 30-minute operation on her eye to remove a piece of debris from a smoke grenade.

The Oscar winner has since returned to filming.

Halle was shooting a scene involving an exploding helicopter with co-star Pierce Brosnan when the accident happened.

Dr Antonio Fernandez, who performed the operation, said the injury will not cause any permanent damage.

He told www.peoplenews.com: "It could have been much more serious. She has been quite lucky, in fact."

Filming of Die Another Day is set to move on to locations in Iceland and Hawaii.

The movie is due to be released in November.
