Mumba wants more screen roles

Samantha Mumba, the 19-year-old Dublin-born singer who recently turned actress with her role in The Time Machine, wants the challenge of tackling more screen roles ... particularly a horror movie or one in which she can play a bad girl.

She doesn't want, though, to follow in the footsteps of such singers as Mandy Moore, Mariah Carey, Britney Spears and Aaliyah, who have become actresses with decidedly mixed results: "I don't want to play roles where I'm a singer, I do that in real life anyway. I want to separate myself and play different roles."
