Judi Dench tops wellbeing survey

Dame Judi Dench is the female celebrity with the greatest sense of wellbeing, according to a survey.

She beat younger stars such as Kylie Minogue, Geri Halliwell, Madonna and Claire Sweeney to the top spot.

The survey of 1000 people ranked a sense of control, optimism, being happy with your looks, fitting into a social group and having good health.

Also important were sex, spirituality, age, boredom, work, family and friends, childhood, stress and goals.

Sir Richard Branson was at the head of the men's poll, followed by David Beckham and Olympic rower Sir Steve Redgrave.

Former James Bond star Sir Sean Connery topped the results in Scotland, while Sir Steve was the favourite in the Midlands, reports the ITV website.

The survey, by High Street pharmacists Boots, questioned 1000 people.
