Surprise over Beckham remark- Eastender star

Tamzin Outhwaite says she was surprised at hitting the headlines over light-hearted remarks she made about David Beckham.

The EastEnders star fell out of favour with Victoria Beckham after joking she would love a one-night stand with him.

But Outhwaite says she refuses to waste more "brain space" thinking about the incident.

The former Spice Girl later told a magazine: "I read in some papers that some girl from EastEnders, Tamzin something, said, 'I'd love a night with David Beckham.'

"Firstly, I wouldn't say that about a married man, and second, as if. Thirdly, let me at her. I think it's disrespectful."'

Outhwaite told the Mail on Sunday's You magazine: "It just shows how famous she is. I was surprised at the attention.

"I was surprised at the attention the story got, but then if Victoria Beckham sneezes it's on the front page."

Outhwaite, who makes her last appearance in EastEnders on April 12, would not reveal how she exits the soap, but said: "the door will close but it won't be bolted."

Her next acting projects include a film for the BBC and Red Cap, a series about a military policewoman which was a big success when a pilot episode was screened last year.

Asked about her private life, Outhwaite says: "Ha! I drive myself to work. I learn my lines. I cook myself dinner. I go to bed."
