Complaints flood in over Ali G's naked bottom poster

A cheeky poster for Ali G's new film has caused a public outcry in Britain.

Two British advertising agencies have withdrawn it after being bombarded with complaints.

The poster features Ali G with his hand suggestively positioned over a woman's naked bottom.

Britain's Advertising Standards Authority and United International Pictures have both received complaints.

Some posters for Ali G Indahouse have been defaced in protest, with the bottom being whitewashed over.

UIP said it was surprised by the public reaction.

"It's supposed to be a light-hearted view of a black comedy film," said a spokesman.

Ali G Indahouse tells the story of Ali's rise to the House of Commons from Staines and stars Charles Dance and Michael Gambon alongside Sacha Baron Cohen.

The film is released in Britain on Friday and the premiere is in London tonight.
