Young extras barred from discussing new Harry Potter film

Fifty child extras taking part in the second Harry Potter film have been barred from talking about it to friends, family - and even their parents.

The youngsters have been forced to sign secrecy pacts forbidding them from discussing Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets with anyone.

They will be paid £35 (€56) a day when they start filming at Alnwick Castle, Northumberland on Monday.

A letter sent to each of the children's parents says: "Confidentiality agreements must be signed by everybody entering the studio.

"It is Warner Bros policy that every person working on Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets does not disclose any information acquired during your visit to the location."

According to The Daily Express parents have been complaining about the strictness of the policy.

A spokeswoman for children's charity Kidscape added: "It isn't good to encourage children not to talk to their parents, that's how abusers work by installing fear."

Harry Potter and The Chamber Of Secrets opens in November.
