Harry Potter star Richard Harris will trace the reality behind his screen role of King Arthur in a new TV show.

Harry Potter star Richard Harris will trace the reality behind his screen role of King Arthur in a new TV show.

Harris, who plays Professor Dumbledore, starred in the 1967 musical Camelot.

Ioan Gruffudd, Anna Friel and Amanda Holden also feature in the new BBC spring and summer season.

It also sees former Coronation Street star Angela Griffin returning to the world of hairdressing in a new TV series.

Griffin used to play hairdresser Fiona in Corrie.

She will appear in Cutting It, a new BBC show about a hair salon, which also stars Holden.

Also in the forthcoming season of programmes will be the return of Auf Wiedersehen Pet which comes back to TV screens for the first time since the 1980s, reuniting most of the original cast.

Other new dramas include an adaptation of the Tony Parsons bestseller Man And Boy, starring Ioan Gruffudd, and a show about GM food.

Fields Of Gold stars Friel in her first TV role for four years.
