Some of Hollywood's biggest names face being searched before being allowed inside the church where Liza Minnelli is to be married.

The wedding will include some of Hollywood's biggest names such as Michael Douglas, Kirk Douglas, Anthony Hopkins, followed by a reception where performers will range from the Doobie Brothers to Gloria Gaynor.

Minnelli will walk down the aisle for a fourth time on Saturday to marry David Gest.

Pictures from the wedding are being sold to an American magazine and today Minnelli's publicist, Warren Crowles, warned everyone invited to the wedding they may be searched.

"Guests will not be allowed cameras or video cameras inside the church and will enter through metal detectors." he told the New York Post.

Minnelli will be given away by Michael Jackson, who will also be Gest's best man, while her matron of honour will be Elizabeth Taylor.

Bridesmaids will include ex-EastEnder Martine McCutcheon, Chaka Khan and Mia Farrow.

Sitting in the pews of the Marble Collegiate Church on Manhattan's Fifth Avenue will be Elton John, Michael Douglas, Kirk Douglas, Anthony Hopkins, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Liam Neeson and wife Natasha Richardson and property tycoon Donald Trump.

One-time heartthrob Donny Osmond will rub shoulders with long-tongued Kiss frontman Gene Simmons, while the guests will party the night away in Wall Street's St Regis Hotel with 54 acts on stage.

They will include the Doobie Brothers, the Pointer Sisters, Dionne Warwick and Gloria Gaynor, and less well-known performers including Little Andy & The Imperials, Vicki Carr and Phoebe Snow.
