White Stripes to play in Dublin music festival

The White Stripes are to play this year's Heineken Green Energy Festival in Dublin.

The event takes place over the May Bank Holiday weekend from May 4 to 6.

Luke Slater, Muse, Van Morrison, Richie Hawtin and P.O.D. are also on the bill.

The festival also runs in Cork over the June Bank Holiday weekend, and in Galway in August.

Details of the acts playing the Cork and Galway legs of the festival will be announced shortly, Irish music website www.mcd.ie reports.
