Mumba makes big screen debut

Chart star Samantha Mumba made it a family affair as she attended the premiere of her debut movie with her brother Omera.

The Irish singer was at the Los Angeles screening of The Time Machine, a big budget Hollywood remake of the HG Wells-penned sci-fi classic.

Mumba, 19, was chosen to play Mara in the film after scoring hits in the US, including Baby Come On Over.

The film - made by Steven Spielberg’s company Dreamworks - stars LA Confidential star Guy Pearce, who arrived at last night’s screening with blonde highlights.

It also stars Brits Jeremy Irons, Phyllida Law and Full Monty actor Mark Addy.
