Radio station runs Indecent Proposal competition for couples

A Melbourne radio station is offering to pay listeners who agree to cheat on their partners with a stranger.

Triple M is offering couples a similar choice to the one Demi Moore faced in the film Indecent Proposal.

Couples are asked to say how much they'd do it for. The lowest bid is for just under €14,000.

Family groups say it's exploiting vulnerable people.

In the film, Moore ends up sleeping with Robert Redford for a million dollars.

Triple M programme director Rex Morris says the station has been inundated with couples willing to take part.

Couples are asked how long they've been together, if they've been unfaithful, if they have any dependents and whether they have a joint bank account. They're also asked which three questions they'd ask their partner in a lie-detector test.

The closing date for entries is February 22. The winning couple will have to undergo emotional tests to ensure they're ready. The stranger will be selected by Triple M and remain anonymous, according to reports.

Breakfast show DJ, Rachel Corbett, is refusing to support the promotion. She walked out on air in protest.

She said: "I don't have a problem if people do something like this, it's up to them. But I don't like the idea of offering money for this particular thing. It could be emotionally devastating for some people's relationship."

Australian Family Association national secretary, Bill Muehlenberg, said: "It's just a cheap trick to get ratings."
