Mohican back as Beckham launches sunglasses
Football star David Beckham showed off a new mohican hairstyle tonight as he launched a range of designer sunglasses.
The England captain sported a spiky crop and hinted he might even grow something new for the World Cup in Japan this summer.
Speaking to sports presenter Gabby Logan at the event, Beckham spoke of how his contract negotiations were going with his club Manchester United.
He said: ‘‘They’re going well, they’ve been going for quite a while now. It’s not the salary that is the problem, that was sorted out in September, it was the image rights.’’
The midfielder also said players had heard their boss Sir Alex Ferguson had decided to stay on with the club when he told them before training on Tuesday.
He said that he was ‘‘over the moon at the decision’’.
Speaking about England manager Sven Goran Eriksson, Beckham said: ‘‘He’s a quiet person, the players respect him as a manager and a person.
‘‘He’s one of the best (managers) in the world and to have someone like that is only good for the team.’’
Asked about his new hairstyle, Beckham said: ‘‘I’ve been trying to grow it.’’
Logan asked if he was going to keep this look for the World Cup and he replied: ‘‘We’ll see.’’
