Whoopi's Oscar found in rubbish bin

Whoopi Goldberg has got her stolen Oscar back.

The award went missing in transit after Goldberg returned it to the Academy to be cleaned.

It was found in a rubbish bin at an airport in Ontario, California.

The Academy had sent the Oscar to the company that makes the awards in Chicago, for cleaning and replating.

But when it arrived the box was empty.

According to Goldberg's spokesman, someone apparently opened the package, removed the Oscar and then resealed the box.

"Oscar will never leave my house again,'' said Goldberg.

She won the Best Supporting Actress Oscar for Ghost in 1990.
