Eamonn admires Gareth's 'Sonic The Hedgehog' haircut

Gareth Gates says he hopes his haircut inspires the nation.

He says it would be nice if the spiky style started a trend in barber shops with people asking for "a Gareth."

Eamonn Holmes couldn't resist touching Gareth's hair on GMTV and said it felt like Sonic the Hedgehog.

Gareth told the show he had high hopes of doing well in the final of Pop Idol.

"I've had to work as hard as everyone else, hopefully it will be enough to win the show on Saturday," he said.
