Billy Joel musical to open on Broadway

Billy Joel will make his debut as a Broadway composer later this year.

Joel and choreographer Twyla Tharp have worked on the new musical Movin' Out.

It is due to open at the Richard Rogers Theatre on Broadway on October 24.

The show is about six friends who grow up in the '60s and go off to fight in Vietnam.

The score contains 26 songs by Billy Joel, including classics such as Innocent Man, Big Shot and Movin' Out.
