Gareth Gates to be hypnotised by Paul McKenna

Gareth Gates is seeking help from hypnotist Paul McKenna in an attempt to overcome his stammer.

He hopes McKenna will be able to cure his speech impediment before he becomes a big star.

The Pop Idol contestant will go head to head with William Young in the grand final of the ITV show on Saturday.

Gareth told a British tabloid: "I've never been hypnotised before but I think Paul McKenna is fantastic and I'm definitely going to give it a try.

"Paul must be the best in the business and if anyone can help me, he can. I've seen him on TV and what he does is amazing. If he can help in any way I'd be very grateful. I'm keeping my fingers crossed."

Gareth has been attending speech therapy sessions since joining Pop Idol but has been unable to attend as often as he'd like due to his busy schedule.
