Wallace and Gromit to become video game stars

Wallace and Gromit are to star in their own video game franchise.

The games will be developed in collaboration with director Nick Park's production team Aardman.

BAM! Entertainment plans to release the first game early next year.

Its managing director Anthony Williams said: "We strongly believe that Aardman's intimate knowledge of its characters and its superior storytelling skills, combined with our proven development and marketing expertise, will result in a range of excellent video games.

"Not only will these games allow fans to interact with their favourite characters, but it will introduce a whole new audience to the adventures of Wallace and Gromit."

The game's developers may introduce new characters especially for the game.
