Faye is first Steps member to go it alone

The first member of Steps to go solo will be Faye Tozer.

She has already recorded her debut single.

Two record labels are fighting it out to sign her.

Faye said: "I'm very excited about the future and I can't wait to perform my solo stuff for the fans."

Her new manager Paul Stacey said: "I have known Faye for ages. I'm really looking forward to working with her as a solo artist."

Faye's new single is not expected to be released for several months.
