Iceland touted as location for new James Bond film
James Bond may be making an appearance in Iceland for his next film.
The movie's producers want to hire the country's powerful arctic rescue helicopters.
Officials say they wouldn't normally hire out the vehicles, but will make an exception for 007.
Location scouts working on the 20th James Bond contacted Iceland's rescue services.
They wanted to hire their TF-LIF rescue helicopter to film some action scenes.
Halldór Nellett, spokesman for Iceland's rescue services, confirmed the rumours, saying: "Ordinarily the service does not hire out its vehicles, but will make an exception for Mr Bond."
IcelandReview.com reports that locations under consideration for shooting include the area around the Jökulsárlón glacial lagoon and the Skálafellsjökull glacier.
