Eastenders star pops question

Life has imitated art for EastEnders’ grandad John Bardon, after he followed his character’s lead and popped the question to his girlfriend.

The actor, who plays Jim Branning in the soap, became engaged to his sweetheart, Enda Gates, while on holiday in Gibraltar.
