Coronation Street to introduce new pub

Coronation Street is to introduce a new pub to rival the Rovers Return, according to reports.

Producers are planning a new set in The Flying Horse pub close to the Rovers Return in Weatherfield.

The move is part of a shake-up of the soap by new drama controller Carolyn Reynolds.

She is planning to introduce a host of new characters as part of the ratings war with EastEnders, according reports.

Characters Dr Matt and Charlie Ramsden and Bobbi Lewis have all been axed and will exit the soap this spring.
