Bride arrives hour late for Westlife wedding
Westlife star Bryan McFadden has married girlfriend Kerry Katona - with the bride arriving more than an hour late for the ceremony.
McFadden tied the knot with the mother of his child and former Atomic Kitten star in a tiny Co Meath village amid tight security.
The bride, in a £20,000 dress, met Bryan at the altar after being whisked past screaming fans outside the Catholic church in Rathfeigh, Co Meath.
An array of celebrities, including Ronan Keating, Dane Bowers and the Westlife boys, were also driven past the crowd of around 200 mainly young girls outside the Church of the Immaculate Conception.
Security was strict in the village as McFadden and Katona protected their exclusive deal with Hello! magazine.
The single lane to the church was sealed off by police and security guards and the 250 guests had been warned that cameras would be confiscated.
An elaborate screen system was erected around the Mercedes cars of the couple, both 21, as they arrived, to protect them against unwelcome lenses.
As they left, amid thick mist, this time together in a Rolls-Royce, they were again hidden from onlookers.
During the wedding, in the 150-year-old stone church, Dane Bowers sang his hit From the Heart and the service was conducted by Father JJ Mullen, McFadden's former school chaplain.
Following the ceremony Ulster Television chat show host Gerry Kelly said: "Kerry looked very charming. When she was on my show recently she promised to wear something traditional, and she did."
