Jamie pips Nigella in good neighbour poll

Jamie Oliver has been voted the top celebrity neighbour ahead of TV cooking rival Nigella Lawson.

He topped a poll of stars that people would want living next to them in a survey.

Neighbours from hell were judged to be the Gallagher brothers with 40%.

Former radio host Chris Evans and his wife Billie Piper drew 19% to become runner-up in the worst neighbour list.

Oliver landed 22% of the votes to be named dream neighbour with Graham Norton second on 16%. Lawson managed 13%.

Nearly one in four people (23%) thought their own neighbourhood most resembled Coronation Street when asked to say which soap best reflected their community, with Neighbours second on 20%.

Other findings in the survey on neighbours were:

74% of people would let their neighbours carry out a Changing Rooms-style makeover on their home.

66% would trust their neighbour to look after their homes, but just 46% would let them look after their pets.

78% would trust their neighbour with a spare key for their homes.
