Pfeiffer says romantic storyline cut from new film

Michelle Pfeiffer says a romantic storyline has been cut from her new film.

Her character in I Am Sam was initially going to become romatically involved with Sean Penn's.

Pfeiffer stars as a lawyer, while Penn plays a mentally retarded father who wants custody of his young daughter.

"They realised that was a line that couldn't be crossed," Pfeiffer said.

"There actually was more of a sort of implication that it became more romantic, and that was cut from the movie."

I Am Sam is released in Ireland next year.
