Beatles top US magazine's album chart for 2001

The Beatles have topped the America Billboard album of the year chart.

Their album 1 topped the trade magazine's top slot for eight weeks in 2001.

Billboard's number two album for the year is Shaggy's Hot Shot.

The magazine describes The Beatles' achievement as a "stunning fact" and "the biggest shock of the chart year 2001."

Backstreet Boys were third in the chart with Black And Blue.
