Four arrested over attack on Brian Harvey
Four men have been arrested in connection with an assault on Brian Harvey.
The former East 17 singer was attacked as he left a Nottingham nightclub on Tuesday and suffered a serious head injury.
Today Nottinghamshire detectives raided five addresses in the city.
Police also recovered a gun from one of the houses, but stressed it had not been used in the attack.
A force spokeswoman said: "Those arrested are 19, 21, 26 and 33 years old. They are currently being questioned in connection with the incident outside The Works nightclub on Tuesday."
Harvey, 27, of Walthamstow, London, had been performing at a sell-out promotion at the club.
Police said that as he left the premises, shortly before 2am, in the company of two local 18-year-old girls he was confronted by a group of four or five men.
Det Insp Dave Hoare said: "One of them struck him across the back of the head with a small sharp bladed instrument."
Harvey was first treated at Nottingham's Queen's Medical Centre before being transferred to the City Hospital's plastic surgery unit.
Doctors grafted skin from his thigh on to his head wound before he was allowed to leave hospital on Wednesday.
